Riding the Rails with Amtrak, Day 2, Part 2 1/2: Montana Postscript




Although most of Glacier National Park was in darkness by the time we passed it, I did manage to get a couple of nice pictures of East Glacier before the sun went down. 


The train pulled into Whitefish a little after 11:00 PM. I'm glad I was still awake and could hop off the train for a few minutes. It's a beautiful station, built in 1928 and restored in the 1990s. 


Inside the station, there is an imposing piece of taxidermy, a bighorn sheep nobly overlooking we mere mortals. And yes, that is an Elizabeth Warren action figure in the foreground. She was my companion on this journey and had her picture taken just about everywhere we went. A later blog post will be devoted to her adventures.
